Tsuna figured that the universe was out to get him because his life couldn't get suckier than what he was going through in his short pubescent life. Rei died because of a disease. She was an otaku and had a both bad and good life. She did not fit in to any groups, her parent was awful and so the only thing she had to keep her alive was anime and manga. So death was like a blessing, but at the same time, it was painfull. She wanted to watch all the anime and read all the manga she can when she was alive and live a full life. So Rei never did find her meaning of life.
