"I LOVED IT" - Clumsy_weirdo_353 "So your sister likes to get drunk and beat up guys twice her size," Taylor said, her eyes closed. "Yup." A beat. "So you can teleport." "Yup." Another slice of silence. "So you really can fight," she said. "Yup." A single heartbeat. "So you can teleport." "Yup." "Cool. Cool, cool, cool." Taylor squinted at him, his outward calm mystifying. "You're taking this a lot better than I imagined," she said. He shrugged, but like a bomb, he exploded. "Holy- You can teleport!" Taylor nodded once with the inevitable. "Yeah, that was more like what I was expecting." Taylor's life has been thrown into tailspin. Since discovering she could teleport six months ago she's been trying to juggle being a high school student by day, and a vigilante by night with failing results. Unable to stay awake in classes from her late nights, her grades are dropping fast, and to top it off her exhaustion has she left friendless. When saving late night employees from a burning building puts Taylor in the path of a dangerous criminal, she ends up in an altercation that forces her to realize she needs help. Help comes from two unlikely people: Clint and Dominic who bring their own complications. As the problems keep building, Taylor is quickly learning that having an ability doesn't mean she knows how to protect the city, let alone herself. "It was amazing!!! And really realistic for a superhero book, you even found an explanation for why she has her powers. It also shows that even though she has powers she still is human" - gui_iris "OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK WITH ALL MY HEART" - _cooloreo_ "I laughed, I cried, I screamed out in frustration, but that's what makes this book so amazing, along with the amazing character growth and plot twists that still got me reeling to this day 😂" - Theaxbank "This is a delightful action packed read that'll keep you at the edge of your seat. Would recommend." Miathesmall

When seventeen-year-old Eliza Witheree's family is taken to a safe haven in Washington D.C by the National Guard after an international bioterrorist group threatens the world with nuclear weapons, Eliza and her baby sister are accidentally left behind. Eliza quickly learns the bombs launched by the bioterrorist group are no ordinary nuclear weapons: the radiation that poisons the air proceeding the initial bomb blast does not affect children, and it leaves some adults zombified. Thrust into a world of flesh-eating monsters who were once adults, shadow-playgrounds of cities, children waging war on each other, and terrorists in hazmat suits kidnapping children, Eliza has three goals: Survive, keep her little sister safe, and get the hell to Washington DC so she can find the rest of her family. The world has ended, and it will push a sharp-witted, nerdy young woman to extremes as every odd is stacked against her. Stay low. Kill first. Die last.

I still have the newspaper clipping. It's a picture of me the first day of my existence, at least, it's the first day I remember. That was three years ago, when a photographer snapped the photo of me walking weirdly around the scene of a deadly car accident. My pale skin shone brightly against the wreckage as my blonde, almost white, hair hung limply past my shoulders. Unlike the people inside the vehicles, I was uninjured.
