When the singular great Diamond decides she wants to raise a protégé, a mix-up causes the orders to incubate a new Diamond to be accidentally doubled. And while Yellow Diamond emerges on Homeworld and is met with celebrations, the young Blue Diamond finds herself on a stray colony, with no knowledge of who she is supposed to be. At first taken to be an off-color, she attempts to find a place in gem society, guided by the fact that she always seems to share an emotional connection with those around her.

The story of Ruby 7-V, a fresh soldier that became part of the first, the final, and futile colony that belonged to Pink Diamond. Everything seemed to have been going to plan.
