In a fit of rage, five year old Okumura Rin unlocked his secondary powers, and felt as if he was forced to flee because of it. While sitting in a cemetery tree, a man who claims he's Astaroth tells Rin his real father wants to meet him. Feeling helpless, Rin agreed to go with the man, and so his life in Gehenna begins.

Rin is raised in Gehenna since he's six years old, learning how to be a proper demon Prince and fear and hate exorcists in equal measure.
