What if you could hear them? The thoughts they deigned not reasonable enough to say out loud, the things not suitable for even a giggly teenage gossip conversation. Would it be a blessing or a curse? Troye, the unlucky teenager bestowed with this 'gift', thinks of it as a curse, with good reason. Do you know how hard it is to keep a relationship with someone when you know exactly what they think of you? Impossible. It's impossible. Or at least that's what Troye thinks, considering he's given up on even trying to make it work. He's different, people shun different. People hate different. And it's better to go under the radar, to be nothing, than to be hated. Right? Tyler, on the other hand, has taken a different approach to a similar problem. No, he can't 'read minds', but he does have a part of himself he doesn't want a soul to know about. He's quarterback, every girl's dream guy, an academic mastermind, and he's also gay. He's seen how different kids get treated, hell, he's been the one to treat them that way before. Why on Earth would he ever wish that on himself? No, it's easier to hide, to be someone you're not, than to be hated. Right?

The lunch bell rang as I gathered my stuff to head to the cafeteria. I went out the door, took a right, went straight for a bit, turned left, and walked in the front doors. I searched the room when a waving hand caught my eye. It was Marcus. We'd been friends, since forever (more specifically since kindergarten when I stole his blue crayon). I walked over to his table, with a smile on my face, as I sat down to the avalible seat right in front of him. "Hey Amy." he said with a smile. "Sup." I bobbed my head up to make fun of his boyish attitude. Next to Marcus was Emily who we met a few years ago when we started middle school. It was junior year of high school now. "Oooooo, look who just walked in" Emily teased with a smirk on her face. My face turned red. Who just walked in? It was Josh Tennor, the guy I'd had a crush on since, like 7th grade.

"Oh come on now Levi. There's no need to be threatened. I don't want Kylie... Yet," he said before going upstairs. I replayed those three sentences in my head over and over, pissing myself off even more. That asshole would never have a chance with me. "Don't pay any attention to Tyler. He just wants a reaction out of you," Levi continued calmly before distracting me, kissing my neck softly. I snapped out of my trans and smiled at him. "You know how much I hate your brother right?" Kylie's life is nearly flipped upside down when she's forced to move in with her best friend, Levi, after her own father claims to want no involvement with her. All is well initially, until another problem arises: Levi's older brother, Tyler. Returning home after three years, Tyler proves to be skilled in getting under everyone's skin, but what happens when he begins to find an interest in Kylie? Are his feelings genuine or is Kylie's heart merely a shiny trophy that the brothers will fight over?
