"Ella" he calls out to gain my attention, "you were awesome! I am sorry for being an ass before...." I turn around to face him,"..but I am still mad at you for risking yourself." I roll my eyes at him. "You amuse me, Ella. I have never met a woman like you who is so strong, fierce, beautiful and at the same time sane-minded." My heart is beating so fast that I bet he can hear it too. "Thank you, Ella, for saving my hot ass, again." I let out a small laugh when he pauses slightly before saying again. "I am very grateful." he says softly. "You sure have a very weird way of showing it, Joe," I remark trying to look past those compliments. They are not good for my heart. . The only thing Detective Joe and Ella Richards have in common is their non-existent faith in love. So what happens when reserved Ella saves the blue-eyed detective ass multiple times. Yes, you've read it right. It's not your cliche love story where the boy saves the girl and then they live happily ever after.
