Samantha Halstead thought she'd have it figured out by now, should be working full time as a nurse after all her schooling, and training. However, she left the job after a year, not because of the hours or stress but because of her ex boyfriend. The very reason she left California after their relationship went from bad to worse. There are a lot of things you can work through and make work in a relationship but, being physically hurt by the very person who claims to love you isn't love. She knew she should've left the first time, instead, Samantha realized the night he almost killed her if she didn't leave she might not ever get away alive. With a desperate call to her older brother; he got her a train ticket back home to Chicago with only the clothes on her back and hope for a better life even if it meant having to start all over again financially and in her career.
