The elves, not wanting to lose their magical lands, fought for it. After years and years of bloodshed, both rulers thought it'd be best to stop this war, and cut off each other from their lives. Many lives had been lost, including the king's. All that's left is burning hatred from the other kingdom. Sugawara is just a simple water blood elf, a big dreamer with an even bigger heart.
