(Sequel to Hell and Back) If Wren Jordan had learned anything while being a leader, it was to never leave her people behind. One day, as she's hunting for her clan, she sees something fall from the sky with smoke and fire trailing behind it. When warriors leave to investigate, they discover people. Sky People Joyla and other members of her clan proceed to watch them, seeing if they're a threat or not. Other members of her clan, however, seek vengeance for the small neighboring village they destroyed during their landing. When Joyla and her good friend Lincoln get captured by the Sky People, she meets a certain, infuriating leader who changes her outlook on things and makes her question her own decisions, as well as her Clans. She couldn't really explain how she came upon the planet called Earth, as she couldn't really explain anything. She woke up in the woods with no memory of how she got there. She couldn't even remember a detail about herself, not even her own name. Unfortunately for the teenage girl, her memory loss was not a good enough answer for the people she found herself surrounded by. The Grounders of Earth took the stranger hostage, demanding to know how she came to the planet, with only small mutters of her falling from the sky. She was left without answers, which only angered the people around her which led her through a long year of tortuous interrogations that left her barely alive. It wasn't until her one friend among the Grounders helped her free herself, allowing her to escape from her captivity. Left alone in the woods, barely alive after her latest beating, she ran through the woods in the hopes of the Grounders not being able to find her again, knowing they would surely kill her. Finding herself lost in the woods, and barely able to walk, she found herself surrounded by a group of new people, and by even more surprise than learning the Grounders weren't the only people out there, she learns that they know who she is.
