ശ്വാസമടക്കിപ്പിടിച്ച് ഞങ്ങൾ ആ ചെറിയ മുറിയിൽ ചേർന്നിരുന്നു. പുറത്തുള്ള കാലൊച്ചകൾ ഞങ്ങളൊളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന മുറിയുടെ അടുത്തേക്കുവരുന്ന പോലെ തോന്നിയതും ഇസയുടെ കൈ എന്റെ വലതുകൈക്ക് മുകളിൽ മുറുകി. ഞങ്ങളുടെ വേഗത്തിലുള്ള ഹൃദയമിടിപ്പ് ആ മുറിയിലാകെ ഉയർന്നുകേൾക്കുന്നതായി തോന്നി. " അവരുടെ ഒരനക്കം പോലും കേൾക്കുന്നില്ല.." തൊട്ടപ്പുറത്തുള്ള മുറിയിൽ നിന്ന് ആരോ പറയുന്നത് കേട്ടു. ഞാൻ നെറ്റിചുളിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ചെവി വട്ടം പിടിച്ചു.
