Attics can be full of surprises. Who could have murdered Darren Powell? He was a very pleasant man fond of puttering around in his garden and playing chess. Silence is golden ...unless you're permanently hushed up. When Lillian Johnson was found dead one hot summer day, no one in the town of Bradley, North Carolina was all that surprised. Lillian had always talked about the trials of her various health problems and was sure to share with everyone exactly how much she suffered. The townspeople were only slightly more surprised to discover that Lillian had been murdered. That's because Lillian, like most folks, had a dark side. And a fair number of people had experienced this dark side. Myrtle Clover, octogenarian sleuth and intrepid reporter, investigates Lillian's death to discover precisely who hushed her up. . . before someone else is permanently silenced.

Food for thought: seasoning with these berries results in a dash of murder. It's been a quiet autumn so far in the small town of Bradley, North Carolina. Or, as Myrtle would put it, a boring one. The slow pace and lingering post-summer heat are making life in Bradley very slow-paced, indeed. That all changes when a local resident is poisoned by what looks like a scrumptious pie. The victim is a boorish man who has plenty of enemies in Bradley. Despite this, suspicion falls heavily on Myrtle and Miles's friend-a botanist who grows the deadly nightshade the man was poisoned with. Can Myrtle and Miles solve the case and help their friend before the killer strikes again?

Calista's tormented past and Nyx's vengeance. Escaping from their dark past, Nyx and her brother, Nox, became Rogues in search of answers and freedom. Violence and years of trauma hardened them, while secrets and promises bonded them. What will happen when they cross paths with the pack known for destroying Rogues and conquering the weak? Will the mate bond twist their plans or lead them further down the path of darkness? Is there any salvation for the damned? Only the Moon Goddess knows... - "What is your name? Why is your wolf black?" "It's...not...important." Three more. My head began to lull forward as my neck could no longer hold the weight. He walked around with thundering footsteps and grabbed my head by my wet curls. He pulled my head back until he could see my face, taunting me with a dark smile and eyes full of delight. "Why don't you carry a scent? Who are you?" I gave him a bloody smile as my eyes started to close, darkness singing its siren song beneath the ringing in my ears. "I thought...you'd...never ask," I panted out weakly as I let Enyo penetrate the room with our scent. "I'm...your...mate," I added before passing out, welcoming the darkness like an old, missed friend. - Most impressive ranking: #1 in werewolf, #4 in Lycan, #1 in Slow, #4 in Gory Notes from the Author: If you are looking for a story that leans more on slow-burning, plot-building themes with multiple moving forces that are not solely centered around the straightforward mate bond romance, then start reading! **Strong language and vivid imagery are scattered throughout**

[Wattys 2022 Winner!] Vanessa Brooks, an anxious and cynical seventeen year-old, discovers she can travel to the summer of 1953 through the run-down community pool in her rural Michigan town and risks her future as she falls for a boy who lives in the past. ****** On the last day of junior year, Vanessa Brooks joins her friends for a traditional jump into the city pool to celebrate the beginning of summer and the last year they plan to spend in Palmer, Michigan; a dead-end riverside town with an eerily abandoned historic main street and decaying Victorian mansions. But when she resurfaces her classmates have been replaced by girls in retro swimsuits and bathing caps and guys in thigh-baring briefs with cigarettes tucked behind their ears. When Pete Harrison, an unfamiliar face who seems somewhat familiar with hers, offers a dizzy and confused Vanessa a towel and a ride home, she discovers her house and family missing. She has somehow slipped into 1953, the year her grandparents graduated high school. Using the pool and vivid imaginings of her grandfather's memories, Vanessa continues to escape to 1953- and to Pete, who, despite his unaffected kindness and optimism, has a mysterious bad reputation around town. But as she dives deeper into the summer her grandparents fell in love, she finds herself unable to return to the present without venturing even further into the past to correct a mistake that threatens her family and future. *Content Warning: this story contains scenes of near drowning and other perils on the sea, swearing, smoking and alcohol use* This story is complete at ~90,000 words. -The second extract from the casefiles of D.I. Hawes and D.S. Gray- When D.S. Edmund Gray first arrived on the doorstep of Coates Hill Preparatory School for Boys, I.D. in one hand and takeaway cup of steaming coffee in the other, his initial reaction was how glad he was not to have gone there. His companion, a certain D.I. Cynthia Hawes, however, was more concerned about how easy it looked to climb out if the large, ornate Gothic style windows on the upper floors and make your way safely (ish) down to the ground below. And to D.I. Hawes's intent amusement, not that she would ever admit it to another living soul, it seemed one of the young boys had done just that. Previous Hawes&Gray cases: #1. -The first extract from the casefiles of D.I.Hawes & D.S.Gray- Edmund Gray is already under pressure. He's just been promoted to the rank of Detective Sargeant at his job in the Oxfordshire Police, and his new boss, the infamously irritating Detective Inspector Cynthia Hawes, seems set on returning Edmund to his old life of blue uniforms, pedal bikes, and giving directions to innocent old ladies like she has many others before him. But when a Japanese student at Oxford University is found murdered in a dingy back alley, D.I. Hawes is put on the case, Edmund along with her. First weeks at new jobs don't tend to get much worse than this... Later Hawes&Gray Cases: #2. Tom Thumb #3. Lips White As Snow #4. Watch Your Back NOTE: I have gone explicit for this series, as I believe it to be necessary for the storyline, but I haven't done it much, and I really hope you all don't mind.
