September first 1997, the start of 6th year and the start of change. As Hermione arrives in Hogwarts, it's no longer the safe familiar walls she cherished as a child. It's secrets, fear and sparring lessons. Sparring lessons which are meant to prepare the older students for war, making her feel anything but prepared as she fails to challenge any of her opponents. That's until she makes a deal with a Slytherin and outsmarts Draco Malfoy at his own game. Draco Malfoy who seems to be drowning in his own thoughts and worry about what this year has to bring, just like her. Are they really alike after all?

It started with a world where Voldemort won the war. Hermione realizes that she must pose as someone else at a nightmare year at Hogwarts to figure out what went wrong. The key to her success and the cause of all her problems have one thing in common: a time turner. Draco believed that all hope was gone in the world. Nothing could be worse than a world with Voldemort in charge, and the golden trio dead. However, Draco was aware that Hermione's body was never found after the Battle of Hogwarts. Maybe there was hope for a better life after all. Just like Hermione, the one thing keeping Draco from his happiness would be the time turner.

The trio and friends return to Hogwarts to finish their final year; it seems at last that they might finally have an uneventful, purposeful year of schooling, at least until Draco Malfoy's world is turned upside down by a family secret. His mother was a Veela, and so is he; now he's in a rather extraordinary predicament. Veelas are matched for life with one person, and he doesn't get to choose who it is.
