The Magicians' Republic of Benkrav is a divided country of silent conflicts, slow-roasting resentments and well-nursed wounds. In Kontrek, the capital, skilled thief Jack Behck and his unpredictable friend Freaky Pietr lead tolerable, unattractive lives as younger members of a minor gang. They usually stick to slummier areas and the kinds of trouble powerful people won't notice. Until Jack finds an urgent need to save his gang, and Pietr finds his freakishness eroding the few connections he has. Enter Jo'sook from Piro: a strangely-dressed, "not-noble" magic-wielder who doesn't get the basics of how Benkrav works. She has plans of her own for which she needs a skillful, compliant thief who will not ask questions; and a Benkravi commoner who will learn magic from her. Jack and Pietr normally wouldn't dream of approaching her, but they're getting desperate... And Jo'sook likes how they fit her plans so nicely. What looks like a straightforward, easily executed deal ends up nothing like what they negotiated. Their lives and their country will never go back to what they were before. **This story is recommended for ages 15+ due to mature content (criminal activity, substance abuse, references to prostitution). New updates at least weekly! Votes and comments are very appreciated. :)

Eighteen-year-old Kali McAlister enters her steam-powered "dogless sled" in a race, intending to win the thousand-dollar prize and escape remote Moose Hollow forever. The problem? Fortune seekers and airship pirates are after her for the secret to flash gold, her late father's alchemical masterpiece. With her modified rifle and a pocketful of home-made smoke bombs, Kali wouldn't normally hide from a confrontation, but taking on a whole airship single-handedly is a daunting task. Unfortunately, the other racers won't assist her--they're too busy scheming ways to sabotage her unorthodox sled. When a sword-slinging stranger shows up, wanting to hire on as her protector, she's sure he has ulterior motives, but he's the only one interested in helping her. The question is...why? Flash Gold is the first in a series of steampunk novellas.

A singing automaton performs each night in Atlantic City. Like every work of art, the toy has a fascinating story behind her creation. An old barfly recounts the tale to a young server, teaching him the power of technology in helping man cope with life's trials of love, loss and regret. This is one of my earlier works, which was published in the Spring 2015 issue of Mad Scientist Journal.

Happily Ever After is a lie. A big fat lie. No one lives happily ever after. No one. Not Cinderella, not Snow White, not Belle, not Little Red Riding Hood. The Enchanted Forest is full of blood thirsty mutators, hungry giants, power corrupted witches and invisible figments. Grimm is a mess of crime and oppression, and it's even worse for the women. Even the village of Sleepy Hollow has it's demons. Little Red Riding Hood (no longer little), a 'recovering' alcoholic and one of the most successful female Monster Hunters in history, grieving the death of her partner and lover, Jack, sets out on a mission of vengeance against his killer. A man that has been trying to end her life since she went to her grandmothers all those years ago. The Big Bad Wolf.

Seventeen year-old spirit medium Emily Chambers has a problem. Actually, she has several. As if seeing dead people isn't a big enough social disadvantage, she also has to contend with an escaped demon and a handsome ghost with a secret past. And then there's the question of her parentage. Being born an entire year after her father's death (yes, a year) and without the pale skin of other respectable English ladies, Emily is as much a mystery as the dead boy assigned to her. Jacob Beaufort's spirit has been unable to crossover since his death several months ago. It might have something to do with the fact he was murdered. Or it might not. All he knows is, he has been assigned by the Otherworld's administrators to a girl named Emily. A girl who can see and touch him. A girl who released a shape-shifting demon into the mortal realm. Together they must send the demon back before it wreaks havoc on London. It should be a simple assignment, but they soon learn there's nothing simple when a live girl and a dead boy fall in love. THE MEDIUM is the first book in the Emily Chambers Spirit Medium trilogy. Yes, that's *trilogy* - meaning not everything will be wrapped up nicely at the end of The Medium. There are 2 more books after it, both of which are published. Check out my website for details.
