Although Elphaba and Galinda were practically perfect opposites, both of them had a very strong sense of justice, and right vs wrong. They both managed to set aside their personal, petty pride to thank the other and maybe that is why they are just so perfect together: because under all of their differences, both of them have such good, beautiful hearts...

Glinda goads Elphaba into joining the swim team (or at least watching them practice). In time, however, Elphaba does not need to be prompted to attend practice. Glinda thinks it's because Elphaba's warming up to the idea of swimming. In actuality, Elphaba is warming up to the idea of Glinda. Shameless shipping.

Galinda walks in on Elphaba while Elphaba is in the shower. Embarrassing as that was, Galinda can't help but admit that the view isn't half bad. A few months later, Galinda now has no problem barging in on Elphaba's showers if it so suits her.
