Being a FOS (Friend Of Spiderman) is hard. Being Spiderman's girlfriend is even harder. But this might be the hardest thing MJ's had to deal with so far. Peter Parker is bleeding out on the floor of her bedroom, and MJ doesn't feel ready to have unlocked this level yet. Damn Ned and his video game metaphors. Rated teen and up for descriptions of injury and mild language. Warning: semi-graphic injury description, battle and medical. Somebody wants revenge on Tony but, this time, they think the best way to do that is to hurt both him and Peter, keeping them close enough to feel one another's pain but too far apart to prevent it, and they're not wrong... Enjoy!

"I couldn't save him. I couldn't save Tony." The words taste like ash. All he can see is the blood painting his hands like a canvas-an artwork of chaos and sin. But May's fingers are soothing, threading into his hair gently as she presses a kiss to his temple. It's an action he is familiar with, but he knows, deep down, that for May... It's a lifetime ago since she has had to care for a child. And for that, he couldn't help but feel betrayed; for Tony had left him in this world he no longer recognised. or In the aftermath of Endgame and Tony's sacrifice, Peter comes home to May. From across the battlefield, his eyes meet Tony's. And Peter realises, shaking, that he cannot let Tony die. He breathes. Ash fills his lungs, suffocating him as he raises an arm, a single gauntlet forming. The world watches with bated breaths, as for a moment, Peter Parker wields the power of the gods. Then, he curls his fingers in. And snaps.

Peter takes a step forward. Breathes. Peers down to the busy streets, trying to ignore the steady pounding of his heart, drowning and drowning his mind's cries. He's tired. He's so, so tired. Just another step, and he'll... fall. He's so, so, so close to the edge, that if he just leans- "Kid?" Peter startles. He turns, eyes wide and movements stiff. "Mr Stark."

Omega Tony Stark is used to the occasional bad day. He has them all the time, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal. However, when his son Peter comes home smelling of fear and blood, the father soon realizes that his worst day isn't when he is upset himself. No. The worst days are when his pup is hurt and Tony can't do anything about it. Almost.

Peter Benjamin-Edward Stark went missing on a Tuesday. For months the entirety of the New York police department, as well as anyone else the Starks could convince to join, searched for the tot. He was only three when he was taken and for four months, two weeks, and four days, Tony Stark and Pepper Stark (nee Potts) worried and fretted over their beloved child. Peter Benjamin-Edward Stark was murdered on a Friday. A ransom call gone wrong spelt the end of the child's life. The world grieved as the kidnappers gleefully told the devastated parents they'd find his body in the morning. They never did. Twelve years passed and the family was still grieving, and Tony Stark worked tirelessly to find his only child's killer and gain justice for his son. Meanwhile Peter Parker was having the worst day ever. He just wanted to help people but instead he gets stabbed. That's just his luck.

(COMPLETE) (An Avengers: Endgame fixit) Peter Parker remembers it all. Remembers aliens, Titan, Thanos, the stones. Remembers every atom in his body splitting, and the agony that followed. Remembers looking up at his mentor's grief-stricken eyes and muttering a small 'I'm sorry' before he was one with the wind. He was gone. But now he has the chance to take that all back. Today, Peter Parker can make a difference. ~ ~ ~ Welcome to Endgame 2.0! Aka, what I think should have happened in Endgame. Angst in there, BUT a happy ending, since Marvel has already provided us with the sad one.
