[ONC Prompt #132]
On the heels of a bad breakup and a disappointing yet unsurprising professional rejection, literary agent Evelyn Harper takes a much-needed vacation to tropical St. Lucia to relax and recharge. It would be two weeks of sandy beaches, stiff drinks, and maybe... if she were lucky... a little vacation boo to keep her bed warm at night.
Evelyn never expected to leave her shower and find acquisitions editor Kennedy Collins, the man who callously rejected her writer, lying in her bed. Drama ensues as accusations and insults are hurled, and the situation becomes even more dire when his children enter the room.
After a heated conversation with a representative from LuxStay, it was determined that the new booking company that promised luxury accommodations experienced a glitch, leading to several properties being double-booked. Since Evelyn was the first to book the rental, Kennedy and his family would have to seek alternate accommodations.
Guilt tugs at Evelyn's heartstrings when she sees the dejected expressions on the kids' faces upon hearing they had to leave the luxury villa. Against her better judgment, Evelyn suggests they stay, ensuring there is plenty of room for everyone. She just had one rule... leave... her... alone.
But what happens when the rules start to bend, and the man Evelyn swore she wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole puts in his application to become her vacation boo?
