What happened when Karl got back to the present after the City of Mizu?¿

Sapnap is a well respected watercolor artist, while his best friend, Karl Jacobs, is a world famous fashion designer. They both have an fascination with freelance animator Quackity, who also holds interest in Karl's designs. One day they have the oppertunity to meet at a convention, will their paths finally cross and they become best friends for life, or maybe a little more than that?

Karl is mute and is attending a new school, where he meets and befriends dream and sapnap. However, the dynamic of the the trio shifts when sapnap develops feeling for karl, leaving dream as a third wheel. Angered and hurt, dream enters a deal that he might soon regret. Will sapnap confess his feelings for karl? Will dream be able to get out of the third wheel position he has found himself in? Read and find out for yourself! Karl Jacobs is an innocent man who's grown up in the overworld, banned from going through the "portal to hell" as his parents called it. He never knew why it was so terrible, he'd only ever heard exaggerated stories from his parents. He longed to see someone or something from there, but his hope deteriorated over time. Sapnap is a demon in hiding. He was born in the underworld, known to him as the Nether. When he was eight he was saved by a wandering boy who found him interesting. He went by the name of Dream. Dream snuck him out of the horrid place he called home. While Sapnap missed it, he never dared to go back. ---

'Maybe if I travel enough, I'll be able to right some wrongs... Maybe do something to prevent all of the bad I keep seeing. I'm sure there's something I can do. Tragedy always has a reason, and once I find the root of it I can cut it off from there. Maybe I'll finally be useful for once.' Karl writes, and writes and writes. Sapnap is a psychology student who has been allowed to work into a mental hospital for a few months so to gather the informations he needs to write his final thesis. The building is very large, with dozens of patients with different mental illnesses and peculiar behavior for him to study. Several are here by their own choice, wishing to get better and re-enter society, but some... are forced to stay, for they are a danger to others and themselves. Unfortunately, a young boy by the name of Karl, belongs to the latter group.
