The year is 1987, and Mötley Crüe's bassist Nikki Sixx has recently succumbed to his severe heroin addiction. In his departure, he left behind his three bandmates: vocalist Vince Neil, drummer Tommy Lee, and guitarist Mick Mars. Vince Neil has been having an especially hard time dealing with it. That was until a friendly apparition in the form of a familiar bass player appeared.

Nikki Sixx has been eagerly waiting for the day when the lineup of his new band would be complete. The assemblage was only missing one member. He'd found a drummer, his best friend Tommy Lee. Nikki had also hired guitarist Mick Mars out of a newspaper advertisement. And he himself played bass. But he still needed a frontman. He'd met quite a few, but none of them were the perfect fit. One night, he went to a club with his bandmates and found the most beautiful singer he'd ever seen with the most perfect voice he'd ever heard.
