They cough up blood and petals until they find new love or get surgery. Some even let the petals worsen. The longer you have Hanahaki, the worse the petals are. If you get the surgery, it removes all emotions so you would feel nothing. Eijiro is head over heels in love with Katsuki but Katsuki doesn't return his feelings. Eijiro develops a disease called Hanahaki (see above) and this story is about his recovery and what recovery he will choose. Will he try to find new love?
