Zayn didn't know what to do, with Liam missing and having to worry about whether or not he was okay, let alone alive, put Zayn on edge as he spent his last year in high school without him. But as the days and months go by where Liam hasn't return, and there is no sign of him, it makes it hard on Zayn to learn to live without him.
