Jay Halstead and Erin Lindsay have been married for almost a year. Living and working in Chicago, they are always busy working cases. In addition to partners Jay and Erin, the Intelligence Unit consists of Hank Voight, Alvin Olinsky, Kim Burgess, Adam Ruzec, Kevin Atwater, Greg "Mouse" Gerwitz, and Antonio Dawson. Trudy Platt also has an important role at the district. The unit is a family.
