Dream is getting used to the afterlife, but after unintentionally seeing into the world of the living and witnessing a plot to hurt George Davidson, he runs to a phony medium for help into relaying the warning and protecting his former lover from harm.

Clay was born too early which makes him struggle a lot. His daily battle with multiple disabilities doesn't make his life easy and after also being bullied, even by his own brother, he shuts down around almost everyone and develops selective mutism. Instead of talking, he starts writing to the person he wants to become friends with. George who struggles with ADHD and a mood disorder suddenly receives notes in his locker each day from an unknown person. The notes cheer him up each time and at the same time he starts becoming closer to the quiet and shy Clay. When George also becomes friends with Clay's brother, he has to choose between either him, who hates Clay, or choose for the sweet Clay. But does he fall for the manipulative behaviour of Clay's brother or does he stay loyal to Clay? Two of the city's superheroes fight villians and protect the city whilst keeping their true identities a secret. They cannot even know the names of each other, their faces disguised by their magical jewels. Dream is a flirty, cocky and impulsive hero with a sword and a smirk, never failing to cast witty and flirty remarks at his partner. GNotFound is clever and calculated, and can't stand being near the flirty masked hero. Exams, friend groups, crushes, fights and prom should be their main stressors. But George and Clay barely have time to sleep, let alone focus on anything else. None of that stops George from crushing hard on his classmate, but Clay's heart seems to be somewhere else. Perhaps with a certain masked hero he secretly spends nearly every day with. Neither can escape the responsibilities on their shoulders, and they can't tell anyone their problems. The only person that could possibly understand what they are going through, is each other. But they don't even know who that is. Which is Super inconvenient. For the past two years, the only dreams George has had the pleasure of having were horrible, horrible nightmares. These nightmares always had five things in common. In every one, each and every person he cared about died in an excruciatingly painful way. In every one, George was tied up, and there were lacerations all across his chest that bled but didn't hurt. In every one, there was someone cackling in the background. In every one, there was something there. Something he could never remember the details of when he woke up. And lastly, that something would always lick his wounds slowly, savoring his blood and fear before whispering a promise in his ear. "I'll see you soon, Georgie." Life is going fine for George until he starts feeling... weird. Everytime he talks to Dream, he gets butterflies- Yearning for the joyful sound of Dreams laugh- But, panic starts to set in. Their only best friends, right? George doesn't want anything more, at least he doesn't think. Fearing that these stupid feelings will ruin evrything, George decideds to take a break from the internet. Things in his life change. He loses his apatite. He loses sleep. And, hes losing his connection with Dream. Yet hes still panicking. As he starts to fall into a deep state of depression, he hears a knock at his door. "Who could that be" George groans as he walks across the cold, hard floor to the door. As he twists the handle, it creaks. Shock freezes his whole body. "Dream?!" Trigger Warnings throughout the book include - Panic attacks, anxiety attacks, vomiting, passing out, suicidal thoughts, attempt suicide, rude language, and physical violence.

dream hates oblivious people. and his best friend is the most oblivious person he knows.

But what both dont know, is that both of them, can see the floating figures...they dont know about eachothers ability to see what they can see...the only clue they have to find eachother is a blurred image of a figure...a blurred figure...of eachother..." If you dont understand, both Clay and George can see figures but George dosent know Clay can see the figures he could see and vise versa for Clay. They could see eachother with among the figures but George can only see Clay's face as a blur and Clay can only George's face as a blur.
