After the war, Hogwarts decided to switch up how they do housing to try and build better connections between students. This resulted in a roommate situation where students are randomly assigned to one of their peers and they live in newly built dorms. Harry never expected to go back to Hogwarts after the war, nor did he expect Draco too. He expected even less that they would end up paired together in a dorm for their last year at Hogwarts.
