Could Garrett and Cora overcome their initial wariness and distrust in each other to forge an unlikely partnership? Cora Scott was a young woman with overwhelming responsibility. She thought things in her carefully managed and lonely life couldn't get any worse; until her Aunt Mable informed her of a new arrival to their household. Garrett Reed had no interest in playing games when his mother had asked him to look after his father's dying sister-in-law, making sure that she was receiving the care that she needed. He was suspicious when he discovered the amount of control Cora wielded over his Aunt Mable's home, but as time passed things didn't seem to be as straight forward as Aunt Mable professed them to be.

Lily Mercer is at a low point in her life, she's fallen away from her true love of acting after one nasty review killed her self-confidence. Since then she's been working dead-end jobs, hoping for inspiration. Unable to make ends meet, she lands back in the acting world by accident. A locally filmed detective show seems like a good choice, but as she joins the erratic cast of loonies, she quickly realizes that she's in over her head and that none of her limited experience prepared her for the real world of acting; it's hard, embarrassing, and not at all what she expected it to be. Especially when the lead actor, Finn Baxter, instantly dislikes her, a feeling that only grows as her youthful accidental prone self-returns in his intimidating presence.

Can a natural killer learn to be human again? Regan's unique talent for murder makes her a perfect assassin. After a lethal encounter leaves her broken body washed up on a beach, she finds herself adopted by a group of teenage bodyguards. She doesn't intend to stay for long, but soon Regan finds herself faced with a choice: become a hero or stay a villain? *** The boy played with the flat brim of the cap in his hands and looked around the room. He sat back in his chair, trying to look casual, but the heel of his hi-top sneaker drummed rapidly on the concrete floor. Regan sat opposite him with her legs crossed and her hands folded on her tartan skirt. She watched him without a word and brushed a strand of blue-dyed hair behind her ear. Somehow this seemed to unsettle him more. 'Calm down,' she said. 'It's just murder.' *** Author's Note: Darkness Girl: Trickster God is represented by Louise Fury from The Bent Agency. P.S. The epic cover was made by Paul Kopetko (you can stalk him at paulkopetko.com). Enjoy!
