They are very much protected by there mate(s), and alpha's don't trust other alpha's around there omega, same with beta's. Other stuff about the omegaverse: very commonly even make omega's can have birth, there is stress and happy and distress pheromones and stuff like that there mate(s) can feel, when born you are destined with a mate(s), heat and rut usually happen around the same time, mate(s) will usually claim eachother.
