Callum has a pretty normal life, he lives with his mom Sari, step dad Harrow, and little brother Ezran, he is a nerd that doesn't have any friends, and the closest thing to a friend he has(other than his brother) is a girl named Rayla he hardly knows, she's the only one nice to him, and the only one at school other than his bullies that acknowledge that he exists. Rayla's life was not at all normal, her parents were science experiments that escaped from the lab at fifteen with her "uncles" Ethari and Runaan, she was a unexpected creation, she and her family lived in the tunnels under her house instead of in it for security reasons, she could be popular at school, the most popular boy that every girl(except her)(and a few boys) had a crush on, liked her and asked her out about once a week, but she didn't have any friends, the closest thing she had to a friend was Callum, a boy she had ever class with and sat next to. Her parents and "uncles" are trying to find the three chosen, three people who can bring back the old world, a world of magic, but one day they go missing, and Rayla knows that they were captured by the same people who made them, with only a incomplete note and the magical items, they had gotten over the years, Rayla will change the world, or that's the plan anyway. Ezran and his friends find a huge glowing egg hidden in the woods, a storm suddenly brews, and the egg hatches, to reveal a baby dragon named Zym.
