Animal Farm is an allegorical novella by George Orwell, first published in England on 17 August 1945. According to Orwell, the book reflects events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and then on into the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. Orwell wrote the book between November 1943 and February 1944, when the UK was in its wartime alliance with the Soviet Union and the British people and intelligentsia held Stalin in high esteem. It became a great commercial success when it did appear partly because international relations were transformed as the wartime alliance gave way to the Cold War. Time magazine chose the book as one of the 100 best English-language novels (1923 to 2005). It also featured at number 31 on the Modern Library List of Best 20th-Century Novels. It won a Retrospective Hugo Award in 1996, and is included in the Great Books of the Western World selection.

***** ALL CREDITS TO L.M.MONTGOMERY**** The eighth (and final) book in the 'Anne' series "Before this war is over,' [Walter] said - or something said through his lips - 'every man and woman and child in Canada will feel it - you, Mary, will feel it - feel it to your heart's core. [...] It will be years before the dance of death is over - years, Mary. And in those years millions of hearts will break." Rilla is a young girl when World War I breaks out. At first she doesn't realize what this means for herself, her family, Canada and all of the world. But the heartbreaking truth is soon evident to vain and easy going Rilla, and the ensuing four years change her life forever. Unable to find this essential classic anywhere on wattpad, I've decided to myself bring it here. Created wholly by the late Samuel Langhorne Clemens, "The War Prayer" remains a work just as vital in our own day, as it was in his.

"Anna Karenina" is the tragedy of married aristocrat and socialite Anna Karenina and her affair with the affluent Count Vronsky. The story starts when she arrives in the midst of a family broken up by her brother's unbridled womanizing—something that prefigures her own later situation, though with less tolerance for her by others.
