A/N: This is an unedited, significantly different version of the soon to be published novel by losangelesque aka L. Akhter. This draft was written when I was 15-18 years old and I highly encourage new readers to read the published version instead. Former high school football star Frank Novak meets profound and depressed loner Lolita Abri - and falls headfirst into love. Throughout the course of one school year, they unravel each other and their sadness, setting apart their differences and realizing that sometimes love isn't enough - and sometimes it just might be. ❝run-on sentence - in which two independent clauses are joined without proper punctuation and conjunctions.❞ Ellie had always been an introvert. She would rather stay home to watch her favorite TV shows, cleaning out a jar of peanut butter and occasionally rereading Pride and Prejudice for the nth time while the rest of the world continued to socialize. Wes had always been good at making friends. He could buy some Gatorade at a convenience store and end up befriending the middle-aged cashier behind the counter or ride the bus and end up having fifty inside jokes with his seatmate before he gets to his stop. Together, they were like a run-on sentence: Two entirely separate thoughts colliding with each other to form a string of words, woven together together to form a chaotic kind of beauty. --- Cover by Kodie (@deadlier)

"Sometime in the middle of my junior year, Miss Dennings, my intrusive English teacher decided¬ not even bothering to ask my parents for permission, that I should take part in one of those noisy and useless socializing circles her husband held every Sunday morning. Saying that I had absolutely no need to go there would be a completely pitiful lie because, let’s face it, I was a self-proclaimed introverted freak and talking to a refrigerator sounded way more appealing than interacting with another human being." Yes, I did need the socializing circle becasue of my trust issues with other people. Yes, I did need someone to listen to my incoherent ranting. Yes, I did need a new start. But hell if I knew Joshua Carter was going to be my saviour.

Who in their right mind would ask a teenager to write a 4000 word essay on the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald anyway? To me, English class was simply the fine art of over analyzing very old pieces of literature. It was usually pretty easy for me to string together some intricate sounding sentences about these old novels. My English teacher loved me for it, but for this particular essay, I was utterly incapable of replicating the excellence of my previous work. All I knew was that Nick Carraway was definitely gay for Gatsby. _________ When two high school boys find themselves being forced into partnership for a class project, things get interesting. With Callaway's snarky remarks and hidden secrets, and Chance's accidental girlfriend, their path to completing high school is anything but straight. _________ Discaimer: This is boyxboy so if this makes anyone uncomfortable, this is me warning you. Also, The Great Gatsby does not belong to me, copyright is to F Scott Fitzgerald. With the references to the novel in my story, I am in no way trying to mock or make fun of the novel, because it is one of my favourite books. Also, the reality of Nick Carraway's homosexuality is arguable, I simply used this opinion for the sake of my story and its plot.
