He watched her, and now he wants her. He has no plans on letting her go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spotting a lamp, I grabbed its glass base, and slammed it against the table. It shattered the end. I raised it up towards him, the sharp ends glinting from the sunlight. He let out a breath before kicking the door shut behind him with a foot. His sharp gaze never left mine. "Stay away from me." I warned. He stalked towards me. "You will regret not heeding my warning." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ! "Get off me." I struggle to no avail, trying to get control of my arms, which he easily keeps pinned. "You son of a-" I'm cut off by his hand over my mouth, leaving his other hand to grip both my wrists above my head. "Do you really want to finish that sentence?" He's starting to get irritated, but I'm too angry to care. I nod my head and yell obscenities that are muffled by his hand. I try to bite his hand, but it's pressed so tightly on my mouth that my teeth can't get a grip on anything. I just want to get out of this extremely vulnerable position. He's barely even putting force into his actions, and yet he is so much stronger than me. It's a terrifying thought to realise that you would be helpless if a man wanted to harm you, subjected to his whims just because of biological differences. "Seriously, Mollie, stop being so childish." He removes his hand and wipes it on my shirt. I don't miss how his hand stays on my waist. "Get off me then," I hide my fear behind my anger and hope he doesn't see through it. I think he does, because he teases me with a smile, "What will you do if I don't? You can't exactly do much in this position." His words sink an arrow of terror into my gut. *** Mollie's bus is hijacked by a group of masked men one day when she's on her way home from university. The hostages are taken to a house in the woods where they're ransomed back to their families. All except Mollie. The leader of the masked men has an interest in her, one that seems to have existed before the hijacking, and doesn't want to let her go. It seems that she's been kidnapped for keeps.

*Disclaimer: This book was originally written in 2018. I am currently in the midst of rewriting the book. The first four chapters are from the original book. Every chapter following suit is a new rendition.* Pskov, Russia - Winter 1942 The Germans came quickly. They stayed even longer. Eighteen year-old Katja is left alone when her brother leaves to fight for the Red Army. By the time winter settles over Pskov, her town is already occupied. Its streets patrolled by enemy soldiers, its people starving, its familiarity stripped away piece by piece. Survival becomes her only goal. Until she meets him. Wilhelm Winter, a young German officer stationed in occupied Pskov, never imagined the war would look like this. A lover of Russian literature and music, he finds himself trapped between orders and conscience, and the lines between right and wrong begin to blur. A single act of kindness, a pair of gloves offered in the snow, binds their lives together. What begins as fleeting glances and stolen moments grows into something far more dangerous. In a city ruled by fear and suspicion, Katja and Wilhelm navigate hunger, loss, desire, and the unbearable weight of loving the enemy. Every meeting risks exposure. Every choice carries consequences that neither of them can escape. As winter deepens and the war demands more blood, they must decide whether love can survive under occupation or whether it will destroy them both. * Wilhelm Winter and Friedhelm Winter are characters inspired from the German miniseries, Generation War. This story is a fictional reinterpretation and does not aim to portray the characters or events exactly as shown in the series. While the names and visuals inspiration remain the same, this version of Wilhelm and Friedhelm are written for this story alone. All other characters and events are original creations. *This story is intended for mature audiences and includes depictions of violence, sexual content, and strong language.
