This short story is the final testament of ghoul investigator Arima Kishou.

"Arete - [noun] The aggregate of qualities, as valor and virtue, making up good character." Kishou Arima sought for a better world for both Ghouls and Humans after the death of his lover, Akane Kaneki.

***SPOILER ALERT*** This is a short homage to Arima Kishou, who recently passed away in the most recent chapter of Tokyo Ghoul :re, ch.85, told from the perspective of Kaneki Ken, who was with him in his last moments. Arima is my favorite TG character, and one of my favorite characters of all time, so many of my personal emotions are added in as well. At the very bottom of this story, you can read a poem that Kaneki is seen reciting to Arima while saying his final goodbyes, and below that, the symbolism of the poem and how it connects to Arima.
