Abused, abandoned and rejected, Izuku Midoriya is tired of being treated like a subhuman due to his quirklessness. As the vigilante Zero, he vows to make a change in society and prove that quirkless doesn't mean worthless. But there's a long, difficult road ahead of him. ---- WARNING, THIS STORY WILL INCLUDE: -depression -suicide attempts/self-harm -abuse -bullying -mentions of rape -lots of swearing This story does NOT condone things like abuse, suicide, and self-harm. If you have suicidal/self-harming tendencies or are being abused, or you know someone who is, get some help! Also, My Hero Academia and its characters are the property of Kohei Horikoshi, and none of the art is mine either unless I say so. The only thing I own in this story is the plotline. {ShinDeku, No quirk Au} ~'Cause if I want you, and I want you, babe Ain't going backwards, won't ask for space 'Cause space is just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get too... Close~ Izuku Midoriya, an aspiring photography student in his first year of college. Everything was going exceptionally well, at first, that is until his mother got sick just a few short months after he began his journey through early adulthood. Cancer- Inko, his mother, was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Sure, he was there on a photography scholarship, but he had hospital bills to pay- as well as money for essential needs. So he takes odd jobs here and there to get by, but it was never enough. That is until he gets an opportunity to clean bathrooms and assist a boy around his age for a crap ton of money. Hitoshi Shinso, he's your typical playboy in great need of an attitude check. His father, Shota Aizawa is a very well respected business man in Japan- but his son's behavior is beginning to affect him in ways you can only imagine. So when a desperate Izuku makes his way into their lives, Aizawa takes a chance to hopefully change his son's snotty ways. Excerpt--------- "Hm? What'd you say?" He asked quietly, getting up and making his way over to the green haired college student's bed. "Oh, nothing," Izuku smiled innocently, shrugging his shoulder as he joins him on the bed. "So what's this game you want to play at eleven thirty at night?" He asked, genuinely curious as to what is was. Hitoshi pressed his lips together in a thin line, puffing his cheeks out in thought. He clearly hadn't thought of the game yet. "How about. . . Two truths and a lie?" He suggested, peaking Izuku's interest. "All right, fine, but you have to go first Mr. Demanding." Izuku said with a smirk. "'Mr. Demanding?'" The elder mused, "Is that what you've been calling me this entire time?" Giving a light shrug of his shoulder, Izuku looks around nonchalantly. "It's a possibility. . . yes,"

[On Hiatus] Izuku Midoriya can't remember a time when he didn't want to be a hero, a time where he didn't have the innate urge to help anyone, and everyone around him. Everyone around him had always told him that he couldn't do it, that he was weak, worthless, or not worth the time, but he never gave up, because he had made a promise to himself, a promise to his mother that he would become a hero. Of course he didn't remember this promise, but thats what you get when you supress half the memories you have from your early childhood in order to keep your sanity. But those memories can't stay buried forever, and when they start to resurface, Izuku's mind is almost as much of a warzone as the outside world is.

"No one makes a move to help anyone, even if they can, because that's the way the population is taught to think. Either you have a flashy quirk and become a hero, have a deadly quirk and become a villain, or have a useless quirk and be a background citizen..." Having ended up with the most unfortunate quirk, Izuku almost wished he'd simply been quirkless. The universe must've been kidding him. His quirk was way too villain-like for him to be a hero. But that made him all the more determined to be one. Just... in a different way.

This will likely a short story but I think I will aim to get more detailed in descriptions of things. They say Ignorance is blissful but that isn't always true for those that have to deal with the issues that others are ignorant of. The others are ignorant of how impactful their words can be, that doesn't mean the other side of the story isn't unaffected though. UA was meant to be better. They were meant to be less ignorant of the world's problems since they are aiming to be heroes! So why does it hurt so much? The past always catches up to you even when you don't want it to. This is the story of how Izuku's quirkless past ends up shaping his time at UA far more than he planned for. Inspired by Ignorance Isn't Always Bliss by izukumidoriyasimp on AO3

"what does one do with the power of evil itself? Oh. I know, they become a villain!" Izuku Midoriya- The bringer of negativity. Also known as... The number 1 Villain. Even before little izuku had a quirk he had a strange admiration for... Villains. Disclaimers: I own nothing but the idea. I do not condone any of the character's actions. Don't replicate what was done.
