Maya Hart was adopted by Cory and Topanga Matthews awhile ago. She has a younger brother, Auggie, who is the Matthews' biological son. Maya still thinks deeply about her mother and father and their "falling out". They constantly argued and divorced, ending up putting Maya up for adoption. Maya has a best friend named Smackle. Smackle has Asperger's Syndrome causing her to not comprehend and express her emotions. They have another friend named Farkle.
