Akira is only eighteen years old. Her parents gave her up before her thirteenth birthday. Running, she went to Japan to start fresh. She's been on the streets since then, following her newest friend and brother around. But all good things must come to an end. When things fall apart and he disappears, she's left alone. Then she meets John, the young priest from Australia. Offered a bed, new clothes and food, she can't help but feel overwhelmed. Why is she so drawn to this man? He owes her nothing.
