Jonathan Toews is looking for another cup. There is nothing that will break his focus from raising the thirty five pound hunk of metal over his head. That is until he meets a girl who captures more than pictures. She captures his heart and there isn't much he can do about it. He doesn't realize how much he needed someone like her in his life. But a accident takes something from her and it changed their relationship forever. Just when Jonathan thinks his whole world revolves around hockey he finds out the hard way that there is more to life than playing the game.

Cassidy and Jon were sent off to a boarding school meant to enhance athletic abilities. But what they found went farther than school and even the ice. They fell in love very hard and very fast, even though they both knew they would inevitably separate. They were both headed to the top but they are going in separate directions. Eventually fate brings them back together five years after they went their different ways, but things are different now. They face a whole new set of problems and they lean on each other to get through them.

Jonathan isn't ready for his life to change. He hates where he is at right now but he doesn't know how to make it better either. Ariana's life changes suddenly and she doesn't get much say in the matter. When she finds herself a victim of a hit and run she is left fighting for her life, or what's left of it. But Jonathan becomes her knight in shining armor and helps her heal. He finds everything he ever wanted in the hospital room he becomes confined to. He's just not sure if he can make the changes he needs in order to become the person Ariana sees him to be. Together they learn to rise up and keep moving forward. Individually they might not be strong enough, but together they can make it.

Sometimes things don't work out the way they were supposed to be. Just ask Alexis Martin, a 24 year old girl who has been left to fight for her life more times than anyone should be. And although she has talent and she has aspirations, she can't see that through the darkness that surrounds her. Not until Jonathan Toews stumbles upon her on accident and can't get her out of his mind. Although the answers to her questions don't lie within him, he still helps her find them within herself. And it's not going to be easy, but together they will be able to do the impossible.
