Copyright© 2022. All rights reserved. Two people forced to live under the same roof in the name of something called 'conjugation' a sacred relationship that is supposed to be filled with love, tolerance, patience, consideration, listening and respect but in this situation, it is the total opposite of what a marriage encompasses. Theirs is filled with castigation, intolerance, cowardice and heedlessness. Merged with dramatic in-laws, the family is turned upside down. Although she couldn't see his face, she sensed a change in the atmosphere... the fierce will of a warrior in battle, the urge to conquer and dominate. Aware of his violence barely kept in check, Layla remained very still. She kept her face turned away and listened to his breathing, until the deepening movements of his lungs became calm once more. Not at all moved of scared, she lifted a mocking brow and jeered. "Go to hell, Captain!"

A few minutes into the walk, I heard footsteps shuffling behind me. I tensed up and halted in my tracks. My heart began to pound violently in my chest. I felt too afraid to even do anything. I stayed glued to my spot, but that didn't stop the footsteps from approaching. Mustering all of the courage left in me, I spun around and to my utmost horror, two men - more like thugs were standing just few inches away from me. Ya Allah, please protect me! I don't want to die like this. I spun back around and started walking, my pace increasing rapidly. "Hey! Where the f*** do you think you're going, bit**" One of the men slurred. By the tone of his voice, I could tell he was tipsy or high. The rate of my fear intensified. MANAL ❤ ©2019

I was in a dark place with no one to hear my cries, I screamed but the sound just echoed into a far distance The pain was unbearable from almost every part of my body especially around my thighs and my hands, my head also hurt I cried into the darkness but no one was there, I prayed and prayed till I found myself slowly slipping out of that world till I was met with blinding light Opening my eyes I looked around to the blank walls made of plain cement blocks, no paint or anything and so was the ground it looked like an uncompleted building but what bothered me the most was what I was in Was it the pain or the wetness I was feeling, i mustered up the courage and raised my pounding head looking up at my wide-spread legs and the pool of blood I was laying in I couldn't cry nor scream just fall back into the dark world I was recently in with one thought in mind What every woman kept and treasured the most was taken away from me.
