Amity and her friends find themselves in a alternate dimension. They eventually find a friend to stay with, a young witch that goes by Luz.

Amity has trained her whole life to be accepted to the Emperor's coven only to realise that's not what she truly wants. Having nobody, and no desire to belong to a coven, she becomes an assassin for Belos. Only to one day reunite with her long lost friend, Luz. Who is coincidentally, her next target.

No childhood, no family, no friends. After a rather rough childhood of being a foster child and being moved around the whole country, Luz reaches a new family, a new city, everything looks like she can start fresh. But neither her new mom Eda, nor the little town in the midwest seems to be just ordinary and as her past mistakes slowly grasp at her, as the world around begins to let down its masquerade, she can't longer outrun her past.
