Cassy Richards was twenty three and three-quarters years old and perfectly content with her life. She and the world had a mutual understanding really. She was a bitch and so was the world. And that's the way she liked it, everything plain and simple and lined out in a orderly line. What could really happen to this lovely life out in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere really? Well lots seemingly... When the deaths of the locals start adding up and Cassy is about the only person left in the village, that equal a bad week. Throw in an old, grumpy detective by the name of Steve and his strange ability to annoy the heck out of Cassy and his partner in crime, Martin, who couldn't even find the remote control on a couch, then that equals a whole new kind of shitty week.

It's 2016, only months following a short but bloody conflict between Israel and Iran. In an effort to salvage what little remains of a barely stable region, NATO launches a peacekeeping operation to bring law and order back to those who lost it. The story follows a small group of U.S Army soldiers from 1st Platoon of D Company, 981st Infantry Regiment, stationed in post-war Iran, assigned with protecting the Lali Bridge, a major crossing of one of the longest and vital main supply routes in the country, from the still hostile remnants of a former opposition, all the while hoping to survive until the end of their thirteen month long rotation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is Book One in the Misery's Solace series.

Being 'a bit genuinely psychic', school loner Ash knows that something's amiss when a boy's death is hurriedly written off as suicide. After the departed victim collides with the ground directly before his feet, he’s convinced that Hawthorne Academy has seen its first murder. It's just up to Ash to prove it. Andrew Godfrey is the boy of his dreams, although not by his choice. For the past year and three months, the pair of them have been having the same dreams together, where they both spend the night as superheroes. Neither can explain this psychic connection, and neither of them particularly enjoys it. So far, there doesn’t seem to be anything either of them can do about it. With a real life crime at hand, however, Ash knows that Andrew is the only one who will believe his psychic gut reaction, and so asks for help in solving the mystery. (Cover by the wonderful Ashihara)
