In life there are things that are said, and then there are those that remain unsaid. For Keely Staub, her life mostly remained in the latter category. She kept the one true love, music, hidden from even her best friends. But when one song changed the world she lived in, shaking it to it's very core, everything she knows is about to change. Her future and a past even hidden from her collide as she wades through a world she'd never dared to dream of, allowing her half heart to maybe find an equally broken one in the unlikely source of Seth Ryan.

Boy meets girl, girl falls in love, blah-blah-blah. Let me be clear with you from the beginning. This is not that kind of story. My name is Cait, and I live in the great city of New York. Okay, so maybe I've only lived here for a week and a half, sue me, but what else am I supposed to say? This strange and beautiful metropolis is my new home, or the closest thing I've probably ever had to a home, and I intend to make the most of my time here. I'm 20 years old, an ex-sophomore in college, and I'm really good at math. Obviously, I've never filled out any kind of bio before. This is my story. It's the kind of story where reality bites, love isn't always what it seems, and maybe - just maybe - everything won't suck in the end. #43 in General Fiction - 12/02/2016 #44 in Teen Fiction - 6/11/2017 _____ © Jandra Sutton. 2016. I keep on forgetting how rich he is. "That means I don't need to catch rides with you anymore," I grin, "Game on, loser." He grabbed his water gun and shot at the cardboard targets and got down 15 out of 20 in the time he had. "Your turn, cupcake" Ace handed me the water gun. "Watch and learn, pretty boy." I live in the most expensive city of the world, a cosmopolitan capital. It's vibrant with all its people, it's loud, it's crowded. It's beautiful. But I'm not part of it. I only see it from behind a window, high in the sky, away from everyone else. Just like in that old fairy-tale, my mum keeps me inside the penthouse, as high as it can get, doors closed to everyone else but her. She says the world outside is scary, it's horrible and cruel and I'm better off inside, where no one can harm me. I don't have real friends. I don't have even school friends. I don't have anyone else but my mother. I know she wants to protect me, even if she doesn't tell me from what exactly, yet I know she has the best intentions at heart. I just wish I was allowed to play outside, from time to time. This is my life, however I do tell myself sometimes: Someday, you'll break free, Roselle. BOOK 6 In the Aware Princess Series flower: Purple Lilac, it symbolises "first emotion of love."
