Friendships, love, and drama between crew onboard a cruise ship... during a worldwide pandemic. A compelling memoir based on true events by Calvin Basset. "Today, we got separated. Well, not by distance. We got separated by decks and a few feet from each other, but it seemed like miles. They transferred us from crew cabins to guest cabins. Every one of us. There are only I few who are still working and have permission to go out, they are known as 'working crew'. The rest of us need to stay in our guest cabins. We have certain rules that we need to follow. For example, we need to clean and sanitize our cabins every day so that way we should prevent you, Corona, for getting to us and making us sick... Lately, I've had a lot of time to think about everything: to think about my emotions, actions, and one part of me still can't believe that this is happening. It's like I stepped into a different reality. Especially after last night when we kissed for the first time...."

This book is full of short one-shot musings that are too short to be short stories and not quite artful enough to be poetry. I often come across writing prompts on Pinterest or Tumblr and a story begins to shape in my mind. Now I have a place to write them while isolation madness sets in. I hope you enjoy these short stories as much as I enjoy writing them, and if you have a good prompt, send it my way! The world outside is scary and uncertain; escape with me.

Hannah Morris studies convicted serial killers as a forensic psychology doctorate student, in order to assist in the science of catching more. Sitting across from killers was no huge feat for her; it was just another Tuesday. When her thesis advisor dies showing her another side of the ever-present fight against serial killers, field work and profiling, the darkness from her past can't help but seep to the surface. Hannah finds herself fighting the war she thought she understood on a whole different battle ground. Armed with sharp intellect, stubborn determination, and an M9 handgun, Hannah launches into a new fight: Tracking a killer with 21 female victims whose remains had been scattered through several Canadian nature parks in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Provided Hannah can convince the tall, dark, and brooding Federal Special Agent Alec Walker to take her seriously, can Hannah learn the killer's patterns before he kills again? Can Alec Walker stop arguing with her long enough to stop a killer lost from slipping through his fingers having already lost him once before? Word count: 79 000
