2020 WATTYS WINNER in NEW ADULT! Oliver Ausman has been given a second chance at life, but it's hard to feel grateful when he was the one trying to end it in the first place. Returning to his normal life after being released from the hospital is hard, especially since his parent's idea of normal is made up of dinner parties, prep school, fancy suits, and fake manners-- all paired with a complete disregard for the mental health of their firstborn. He's long been fed up with it, but the final straw is when he finds out that his "father" isn't actually his father at all. Oliver decides he's had enough of the perfect facade, so he packs a suitcase and grabs his younger brother, "borrowing" his mother's car to sneak off on a trip to find his biological father. But he never expected to pick up a girl with her own similar set of problems, to be followed across the country by a money-hungry pair of criminals, or most of all, to find out that maybe this life thing isn't as bad as he thought. Victore Academy boarding school is a lot of things. To the outside world, it's the heaven of schools. For some students, it's an experience they'll never forget. For others, it's the place to start their careers. And maybe for a few, it's the peak of their lives and really as good as it's going to get for them. And for me... well, I'll need a bit more than this to talk about that. But before you step in, here's a few things that everyone makes note of: 1. The students have secrets. And money. It's hard to tell what more of, honestly. 2. Don't get a room on the West Side of the girl's dorms. The birds around that private property lake house downside from campus don't stop chirping at 5AM. It's unpleasant, to say the least. 3. Avoid Mr. Labadee's classroom at all costs outside of lessons, especially past fifth period. It's better off if you're left in the dark with this one. 4. That asshole from Spain that terrorizes all the young freshmen is not hot. However, girls do make note of the fact that he works out post seventh period and right before first, near the track field. 5. The Victor's Tournament happens every year for all the senior year students. It's a pretty big deal. 6. And I think Armin Rivers is probably going to kill someone before he wins it (and it's probably gonna be that Spanish asshole). cover by soundthealarm

| A Wattpad Featured Story | Wattys 2018 Shortlist | He was a frustrated, fresh-out of college singer-songwriter. She was a frustrated, supposed-to-be graduating college student working at a milk tea café. He was supposed to sign in with a label, until his band ditched him. She was supposed to be studying, until her mom filed for divorce. They were both frustrated. They were both lost. They were both searching. . . until a cup of milk tea poured onto the music sheets. It was terrible, it was horrible. It was a giant blob of stain in contrast with the white-lined sheets. Surprisingly, though, it created a masterpiece with the perfect symphony. Please order from the link in my profile. *** Being beautiful might as well be Flora Morgan's only talent. Some of the words she hates include economy class, second-hand clothes, and budget. She likes fashion, dating, not being on time and getting what she wants - until she meets Sean, who is like the clock striking midnight; he erases all her magic power. He is as mature and sophisticated as the dark roasted coffee he drinks, while she is like a lollipop: colorful, dazzling on the outside but empty calories and artificial sweeteners on the inside. The attraction is instant, but getting a kiss is only the first step. To keep their fire burning, they must accept each other's differences and decide if what they're building is strong enough to survive trials, jealousy, expectations, and the fear of becoming someone they no longer recognize.
