The question was unavoidable, no matter how positive he was, and no matter how fleeting those negative moments were. Did Echo really love him? Was it all because of his unfailing positive aura? Did Echo grow greedy for the positivity? Did he somehow manipulate Echo into 'falling in love' with him? What'll happen next? What will Dream do? What's going to happen to their relationship? He took a closer look at the ground, and reeled back in shock at the monster dust he found there. His mind went blank as only one thought came to mind. Snare. 〜 Echo had thought it was all a nightmare, just another bad dream... But he never woke up. It broke him to know that the one monster he truly loved, the ONE skeleton he'd give up his very SOUL for had left him for good. And it broke something else too. A human fell into the Underground, and began befriending every monster they came across, including the skeleton brothers. Their acts of kindness seemed to be genuine, giving the monsters no reason to distrust them... Until the human pulled a one-eighty and killed Sans when everyone least expected it. This is the story of how Papyrus grieved over his older brother's death, how he discovered the truth about his mysterious sibling... and eventually, how he decides to avenge his sibling's murder. But in the end he'll forget everything once the timeline resets again, right? That's what he's afraid of. (Based on the AU "Disbelief Papyrus," but with an original twist. There are no pairings except for what's canon. This is mainly Papyrus-centric, but it does focus on mystery of Sans during the story.)
