Zak lives in a rural, conservative area with his single, alcoholic father and he has insomnia and anxiety. Zak often sneaks out in the night to drive around and go to red hole, a popular hole in the creek to go swimming in. One night there, he finds a guy named Darryl.

Dream and George find themselves locked in a universe different from the post-apocalyptic world they live in. That's what they think until they realize that they have traveled to a place, separated from civilization, where supernatural things happen, every way you go is leading to where you've come from, hallucinating you, keeping you forever inside. Once you've entered, you can't leave.
