Quran For All - In Every Hand, In Every Heart. "Make peace.....its one of the noblest things" by Asma bint Shameem We decided to meet for lunch. We were all excited. After all, we were getting together after a long time. As we sat at our table, we started talking, catching up on all that had happened in the past few years, when I noticed a bit of tension developing between two of my friends. Then, all of a sudden, right before my very eyes, before I knew it, it blew up into a horrible argument. Angry words flew between the two of them and before I could do anything to stop it, both my friends stormed out of the place, vowing to never talk to each other ever again! "Subhaan Allaah! ....what just happened here?" I said to myself, trying to digest the horrible incidence that just took place. Two of my dear friends fighting with each other!

Quran For All - In Every Hand, In Every Heart. " In the Hajj Zone?! " by Asma Binte Shameem. "Hajj Mabrook!" exclaimed my friend excitedly. "Continue to make du'aa for us as you're still in the zone!" "Huh? In the zone.....what 'ZONE' ??" I asked perplexed. "You know.....you have just come back from hajj and Allaah will answer all your prayers up to 40 days after you come back from Hajj." she explained. "Uh....wait a second," I said. "Where does it say that....is it in the Qur'aan or Hadeeth?" "I don't know" she said shrugging her shoulders. "I've always just heard 'people' say that."

Quran For All - In Every Hand, In Every Heart. "What's So Special About This Number?" by Asma bint Shameem. Some of us seek barakah (blessing) from it by writing this number on the top of our letters, documents, exams, and job applications. Some of us write it on something and hang it in the car to 'protect' us from accidents. Some of us chose it as the number for our cell phones or for our license plates, thinking it is part of Islaam and we are getting rewards for doing so. But what is this 'magical, mystical' number that is supposed to bring you barakah and protection and 'good luck'???? They say it is the number "786". Why??

Quran For All - In Every Hand, In Every Heart "Never Forget" By Asma bint Shameem Never forget that Allaah is forever watching you Always remember that Allaah is watching whatever you do. He sees what you do in the middle of the day and He sees what you do in the deepest part of the night. . He sees all. He hears all. There is nothing that escapes Him. If you are alone, He is the second and if you are two, He is the third. And He is with you (by His Knowledge) where soever you may be. And Allaah is the All-Seer of what you do." (al-Hadeed:4) "Not a word does he utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it)." (Qaf:18) Remind yourself of this as often as you can and throughout the day and before you sleep....every time you do something....and every time you speak. In fact, aim to make it your thought with every breath you breathe.

Quran For All - In Every Hand, In Every Heart. "The best Greeting there could ever be" By Asma bint Shameem Did you wake up this morning and say "As-Salaamu Alaikum" to your spouse or your child? Or did you greet them with a "Good Morning" or even a casual "hi"? Have we been teaching our children the importance of greeting each other with salaam? Or when we see them off to school, do we send them off with a 'bye', instead of "As-Salaamu Alaikum", the dua for peace and blessings? For some of us, this may seem a minor issue. Or it may even be a 'progressive' issue. But, in our haste to 'adapt', we forget that saying "As-Salaamu Alaikum" is the best greeting there could ever be.
