After a dangerous encounter with Nightmare, Fresh runs away with a piece of their soul. However, when he tries to absorb the corrupted soul, he ends up creating a powerful new parasite named Bling. Despite Fresh's attempts to kill Bling, they escape into the multiverse, where he learns about the worlds around him. But though he has to infect people too, Bling's negative emotions begin interfering.
