There are mentions of (y/n) character blindness towards the beginning of this book for plot development reasons and open minded thinking. This theme is accomplished by the fact the term blindness is a umbrella term for severe visual impairment - so don't worry you can still see Anakin's gorgeous face, this idea just helps to build depth in the beginning.
