"Do you remember?"
"Hm?" I stopped staring through the window and looked at Nyx - her hair was flowing with the wind, her eyes twinkled as she stared into mine.
"You didn't forget, did you?"
"How could I?" I put my hands on my hips. "Why, is there something wrong?"
She chuckled a little. "You were so different back then. You stumbled into my cave lost and worried-"
"Well if you were raped by a god and cursed to have snakes for hair, I'm pretty sure you'd be lost and worried too." I interrupted.
"You're not wrong." She ambled behind my desk.
We both looked through the window and watched as the children played on the grass, their screams of joy filled the air.
"Did you ever forgive them?" Nyx asked.
"I forgave, but I never forgot." She seemed okay with that response.
"What about you sister, did you forgive them for that too?"
I tilted my head down and slightly shook my head. I tried my best to not remember the details; it still felt like yesterday.
Nyx giggled and gave me a kind smile. "You've grown so much, Anat."
"So is it bad that I still don't feel accomplished yet?" Nyx's smile turned into a poker face.
She sighed and crossed her arms. "What do you mean?"
"We have to kill Zeus."
She rolled her eyes and scoffed.
"I don't want to muddle around anymore, Nyx. He's still sending warriors to kill me. He needs to die."
She hung her head low and closed her eyes. I leaned in a little closer. I didn't want her to just listen to what I was saying... I wanted her to feel it too.
"I was begging Poseidon to stop raping me. I was begging for Athena to believe me. I was begging all of my life, and I'm done. We need to win this war, and we need to kill Zeus in order to make that happen."
She sighed. "You always had a way with words."
I laughed and continued looking outside the window.
"One of us, if not all of us, might die."
"We're ready for anything," Nyx said.
I walked to the door and rested my hand on the knob.
"Are you ready?" I asked.
