I'm guessing you can tell what this story is about, I know its a popular topic and prompt. But they are some of my favorite stories to read so I figured why not! The Knights figure out just how much Merlin does for them without them knowing. No Slash this is also like my other story in the way that everyone is still alive after defeating Morgana. Arther doesn't remember merlins Magic and it's been a few months and everyone thinks everything is great. But unannounced to them Merlin the Drewid king has been working to take down a group of Morgana's followers hell bent of exposing him and killing the king. Merlin has had to deal with more magic assassins, normal assassins, and just general shenanigans that the knights as per usual are completely oblivious to. But when the Blood-hand (the magic group) catches them off guard they finally learn the truth.

After a hunt gone wrong, the knights, Prince Arthur, and Merlin end up in the crystal cave, where Merlin realizes his true potential. Will he continue to be the cheerful servant we know and love, or will he turn into a warlock much more twisted... Basically I have a starting story that has different endings. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to write, so I just did both. One ending is dark Merlin and the other is just Merlin being himself. Hope you like it!!

When Merlin entered his chambers, Arthur was already awake, and ordered Merlin to prepare two horses for a hunting trip. "Is it too much to hope that you'll be taking Leon or Lancelot," Merlin had asked, his voice laced with fake sweetness. "Stop being lazy, Merlin. It is an honor to be invited on a hunting trip with the king," Arthur replied haughtily. "An invitation implies there being a choice, sire."
