In order to do that, however, Gandalf insists that they need a certain burglar in order to steal back the jewel that will ensure Thorin's authority as the king. You could say Endor Baggins's life was the complete opposite of her uncle Bilbo's. Having grown up as the proper hobbit, with no "trouble in an adventurous spirit," she was highly praised by strangers and hobbits alike.
