As a child Mai was never interested in becoming a hero even though her parents had always tried to force her into said career path. Her parents favored her and pushed her to be just like them, but the more they pushed, the less she felt like she suited the role of a hero. Now, she's just about to graduate from junior high and move onto high school. She was ready to move on from her past and start anew as she geared up for her new school life, but fate apparently seemed to have other plans for her... It only took one fateful incident on her way home from the store to change her life, and her path in life, forever...
