After uncovering a series of grisly murders, the Holy Church sends Seren to investigate one of their prime suspects; a mysterious dhampir named Lore Seymour. Although a seemingly kind man and wonderful father, Lore's life is a riddle overcome by tragedy that may or may not have come by his own hands. His actions are an enigma, often pushing Seren away while also dragging him closer. Through time spent together, Seren begins to see Lore, and his wacky family, in a different light. Could it be that the church sent Seren there to set Lore up? All that he has been taught by the church, who saved him from a gruesome fate, starts to sound like a lie, but the life of a paladin is all Seren has ever known. As suspicion fades and love blossoms, Seren's forced to test not only his faith, but also his entire purpose in life. Can he truly set aside his grievances against vampires to love that which he has been trained to kill? Warning: This story will dive into some troubling topics such as child abuse, spousal abuse, sexual assault, suicide, murder, drug use, manipulation, brain washing, and just over all bad. However, I keep the tone as light-hearted as I can and there will not be detailed scenes. I'll also leave warnings on chapters that contain triggers. *THIS IS NOT A PAID STORY! There is behind the scenes content that is purchasable, but not necessary to read. That's why there are some locked chapters, but the story itself is FREE ^_^ Artwork by mailanoooo on instagram

The blinding flash came first, so intense that it blinded even through closed eyes. The deafening thunder followed very shortly after, as the burning light began to subside. The cloud appeared as a silhouette at first against the whiteout, but as the sky returned to normal colour the iconic mushroom could be seen rising into the sky. The heat wave was the first to unleash its deadly power, burning hotter than the sun everything in its path incinerated instantly. Everything from stone to the air itself vaporised in an instant for miles around the blast. Then came the shock wave to finish where the heat wave left off, levelling everything in its path. Everything above ground level ripped from it place and blown to pieces as if it was nothing more than paper. All life for miles around the cloud simply erased from existence, as if it was never there at all. Gone. Gone in only few minutes.

Miorpeans are an ancient race that use starlight as a source of nourishment and energy. For eons they traveled the cosmos in search of sentient life that existed harmoniously within the limits of a planets balanced bio-network. They found the inhabitants of Earth to be in violation of this, the most imperative and fundamental of their natural laws. The planet was withered, desolate, and dying. Its environment was collapsing and Humans were deemed responsible for the planets deplorable condition, and eradicated. Now, after centuries of terraforming, a rejuvenated Earth was ready for habitation. A team of Miorpean researchers were tasked with testing the environment of this newly reclaimed world. One member of the team, Mira, made a stunning discovery. Somehow, humans had survived and were thriving in large communal settlements. Mira would come to believe that humans respected the planet and vowed to protect them from the fate the befell their ancestors. A stunning revelation about the origins of these humans would bring her into an intense conflict with a code of ethics and beliefs that has guided the course of her ancestral people since the beginning of time. It's been seven months, seven months of no human contact, scavenging resources from nearby towns that are slowly crumbling to dust. The United Rebel Front led a planetary scale rebellion among many countries and were against the UN itself. That lead to a planetary war called the 'Insurrection War'. A biological weapon was created and was used on the front lines to turn soldiers into monsters, but they couldn't keep control of the monsters....and that led to a zombie outbreak. Now I live alone in the Forest away from the zombies and other humans. I've been turning insane or is it that's what I'm thinking that I am turning insane but anyways, I am alone...that's what I thought anyways. (Idea & Inspiration of this zombie apocalyptic story goes to @CrystalScherer) -The Virus Within [Similar Hierachy] (And the idea came partly from resident Evil) {Ranked #13 for 'Main' at 10th of July 2018}
